Family owned restaurants take the extra miles. At least Byblos does! We visited the restaurant last week as we were visiting our friends in Eynsham. We were hungry and had no expectations with regards to the quality of food, as Eynsham is not known for its food scene. However, Byblos managed to prove our lack of expectations wrong.My girlfriend is vegetarian and I am a convinced carnivore; Byblos managed to satisfy both our needs in the most mouth-watering way. Although a convinced carnivore (I know, not the best thing to be nowadays), having tried some of my girlfriends dishes, I am seriously considering vegetarianism. The combination of spices, flavours and textures of this fusion Mediterranean restaurant, the friendly and courteous waiters, and the vibrant yet elegant atmosphere should place it on the worth a detour map. The quality of the food is hard to match even in Oxford.
Lovely place. Prices very good. Food really tasty. Staff friendly and interesting. Don't forget to take your own booze as no license as yet. Worth checking opening times and booking as can be popular.
